Social Distance BBQ with a Friend -- Pork Chops,Corn and Pineapple 



Just Pork Chops, Corn and Pineapple

Nothing fancy.  I had a friend over for a Covid, social distance BBQ in my backyard.  He brought his own silverware.  I served his food on a paper plate.  He disposed of all his trah when we were done. 

I hung the corn and pineapple and put most of the pork chops on grates.  I did hang 1 or 2 chops that didn't fit on the grates.  The Grated ones finished first and had grill marks.  I think they tatsed better then the hung ones.  I think because we eat with our eyes first the  appearance of the grill marks may have had something to do with that.

 Pork Butt and Chicken Drumsticks and Thighs 9/5/2022 This Pit barrel Cooker is a pulled pork cooking machine.  Just set it and forget it.  This was an 8 pounder.  It went on the Pit at 7am fat side down seasoned with Arthur Bryant's BBQ Rub.  I didn't 0pen the Pit till 1130am when I added the chicken for our lunch.  The Pork Butt had a temperature just north of 170.  This is what it looked like about 4.5 hours in Bobs Seasoned Chicken Drumsticks and Thighs both bone in join the party. After 35 minutes or so Lunch is ready the chicken was wonderful.  I ate the Drum sticks the wife ate the thighs. At 2pm I looked at the pork butt. Pork Sirloin Tip Roast (9/27/2020)

Pork Sirloin Tip Roast (9/27/2020) This came out amazing in my Humble opinion.  It is a fairly simple recipe.  For the most part if it includes more then 4 ingrediants, I am in Trouble.  The Recipe is after the phot shoot. Its a double hook hang.  We also have pineapple on skewers and Roasted potatoes in a basket. Roasted potatoes and pineapple. The roast is done. Recipe:  I more or less followed the recipe on the Pit Barrel Cooker blog  Pork Loin Recipe . The biggest difference is I used the Central BBQ Rib Rub.  I loved how they turned out on my ribs so I thought I would try it on this roast. Here is how I did it. Pork Loin Roast 2,5 lb Sirloin Tip Roast ( I have also used a tenderloin and Center Cut Loin Roast) Extra virgin olive oil Central BBQ Rib Rub I placed a light coating of olive oil on the Pork Sirloin Tip roast.  I used the BBQ Rib Rub liberally.  (I really like the way the bark setup with this ...
