Steak, Scallops, Pears, Plantains



 

This was a fun cook.  I raised the  coal basket to be closer to the cooking grate by placing it on a Raised  half grate.  I grilled pears for the 1st time they were amazing.  The plantains were not edible.  They were too ripe and I forget to peel them.  My wife said she would have liked her steak a little more done,  Next time Ill cook hers to 140,  Mine was a little over 140 and was perfect.  I used SPG on the steaks, they came out great.  They were about 20 oz each and cost about $23 each from US wellness meats, they are a little cheaper at my local butcher and taste just as good.  With covid going on the convenience of home delivery is a huge advantage for US Wellness Meats.



As you can see from this Pic I forgot to peel the plantains.  They did not come out good,  Next time I will peel them


That is the garlic butter Scallops across the rebar,  I thought the were good my wife says they were ok but fresh scallops are way better.  They came frozen with the sauce packet built in,  Next time Ill get the bacon wrapped ones,
